Remote - Facility Security Officer Consultant
FSO Consultants® directly supports the nation’s fasting growing defense contractor industry as a national provider of Facility Security consulting services. Our consultants are responsible for managing, administering, and coordinating activities for our clients’ Department of Defense (DoD) classified contracts to ensure compliance with government or company policies and procedures in accordance with the 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Duties & Responsibilities
This strategic role will support critical client FSO operations and assist in executing the requirements mandated by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the DoD, and other federal agencies.
The types of services are dependent on each scope of work. Some examples are as follows:
Initial Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Facility Clearance coordination and assistance
NISPOM guidance and expertise
National Industrial Security System (NISS) management and training
Defense Information System for Security (DISS) management and training
National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) management and training
Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) coordination and management
Personnel Security Clearance initiation, reinvestigations, visit requests, and maintenance of the Personnel Security Management Network (PSM Net) through DISS and NBIS
Facilitate TS/SCI billets, investigations, and indoctrinations
Consultation on the procedures outlined in the NISPOM
Security Standard Practices Procedures (SPP) manual creation and maintenance
DoD initial and annual refresher security training creation and administration for cleared employees
Insider Threat Program (ITP) development and maintenance
Mentor acting Facility Security Officer (FSO) on FSO duties and responsibilities
DCSA Inspection and Security Review preparation
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be a United States Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
5 years prior military or DoD contracting experience preferred
Prior FSO experience is NOT required
Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with corporate executives and federal regulators
Strong computer skills & proficiency within Microsoft Office suite
Friendly team player with a professional demeanor and the ability to remain calm in stressful conditions
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and support multiple customers
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proactive attitude
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in a professional office environment preferred
Completion of all relevant CDSE FSO training certificates
Limited travel to customer sites
